Everything you want to know — and some things you didn't think to ask. If your question isn't here, WhatsApp us at +971 50 992 9257 and we'll answer it directly.

Q1What's your minimum order quantity?

Minimum order quantities depend on your location and the product grade. As a general guide:

Dubai Metro Area:

  • Diesel EN 590: 500 imperial gallons (2,273 litres)
  • Red Diesel / Gas Oil: 500 imperial gallons
  • Marine Gas Oil: 1,000 imperial gallons (4,546 litres)
  • Fuel Oil: 5,000 imperial gallons (22,730 litres)
  • Kerosene: 200 imperial gallons (909 litres)
  • Bitumen: 20 metric tonnes

Other Emirates: Minimum orders typically start at 1,000 imperial gallons for diesel products. Higher minimums may apply for remote locations.

For bulk contracts and regular scheduled deliveries, lower per-delivery minimums can be negotiated. Contact us with your requirements.

Q2How do you price your fuel?

Our pricing is fully transparent and based on three components:

  • Base fuel price: Indexed to Platts Arab Gulf or FOB Singapore diesel assessments, with the specific reference, date, and premium/discount clearly stated in our quotation.
  • Delivery charge: Fixed fee or distance-based, depending on your location and order volume. Stated upfront — no hidden surcharges added later.
  • Applicable taxes: UAE VAT (5%) is itemized separately on the invoice.

For spot purchases, we provide a firm quote valid for a stated period (typically 24–48 hours). For contract clients, we establish a pricing formula reviewed monthly or quarterly with documented market rationale for any adjustments.

Q3Do you offer credit terms or payment options?

We offer flexible payment arrangements depending on your order volume, contract type, and credit history:

  • Spot purchases: Payment via bank transfer before delivery, or cash/cheque on delivery (for smaller orders — subject to approval).
  • Regular clients: Net 15 or Net 30 payment terms available after credit approval.
  • Long-term contracts: Custom payment terms negotiable — including milestone payments for large projects and letters of credit for international transactions.

We do not require large upfront deposits for standard UAE deliveries from approved clients.

Q4How do I get a quote?

There are several ways to reach us:

  • WhatsApp: +971 50 992 9257 — usually the fastest route.
  • Phone: +971 4 296 3896 (Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM GST).
  • Email: sales@hiberniadiesel.com
  • Website: Fill out our Contact Us form.

To give you an accurate quote as quickly as possible, please include: product grade(s), approximate volume per delivery and frequency, delivery location (emirate, area, free zone), any special requirements, and payment preference. Most quotes are provided within 1–4 business hours for standard requests.

Q5Do you match competitor prices?

We price competitively within the UAE market, but we don't engage in "race to the bottom" discounting. Diesel is a commodity, but fuel supply is a service. The cheapest diesel in Dubai won't save you money if it arrives late, doesn't meet specs, or comes from a supplier who won't answer the phone when something goes wrong.

That said, if you have a genuine competing quote for comparable product and service levels, we're happy to discuss it. Fair pricing, transparently quoted, with no surprise fees — that's our commitment.

Q6What areas do you deliver to?

We deliver to all seven emirates of the UAE:

  • Dubai — all areas including Jebel Ali, DIP, DIC, Dubai South, Dubai Marina, JLT, Business Bay, Al Quoz, Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Barsha, Jumeirah.
  • Abu Dhabi — Abu Dhabi City, Mussafah, ICAD, KIZAD, Al Raha, Yas Island. Al Ain: typically next-day delivery.
  • Sharjah — SAIF Zone, Hamriyah Free Zone, Industrial Areas 1–18, Al Sajaa, Al Dhaid.
  • Ajman — Ajman Free Zone, Al Jurf Industrial Area.
  • Ras Al Khaimah — RAK Free Zone, Al Jazeera Industrial Area, Mina Saqr.
  • Fujairah — Fujairah Free Zone, Port of Fujairah, Industrial Area.
  • Umm Al Quwain — UAQ Free Zone, Industrial Area.

Remote or offshore locations: Please contact us to discuss feasibility. We have experience with offshore platform supply in UAE waters.

Q7How quickly can you deliver?
  • Dubai metro (scheduled): Same-day or next-day for orders placed before 12:00 PM.
  • Dubai metro (emergency): Dispatched within 60 minutes of confirmed order (subject to availability — call ahead to confirm).
  • Other Emirates (scheduled): Next-day for most locations; 48 hours for remote areas.
  • Emergency outside Dubai: Typically 2–4 hours for Abu Dhabi/Sharjah/Ajman, 4–6 hours for RAK/Fujairah/UAQ.
We do not apply emergency premiums. Emergency deliveries are charged at standard rates.
Q8What tanker sizes do you operate?

Our fleet includes tankers ranging from 1,000 to 12,000 imperial gallons (4,546 to 54,553 litres):

Tanker CapacityTypical Use
1,000 IG (small)Small generators, sites with limited access, residential compounds
2,000–3,000 IG (medium)Medium construction sites, hotel generators, small fleet depots
5,000–8,000 IG (large)Large construction projects, manufacturing plants, main fleet depots
10,000–12,000 IG (heavy)Bulk deliveries, major infrastructure projects, marine bunkering support
Q9Do I need to be on-site to receive a delivery?

We strongly recommend having an authorized representative present to verify compartment seals, witness the sample draw, and sign the delivery note.

However, for regular contract clients with accessible, secure storage tanks, we can arrange unattended deliveries with prior written authorization. This typically requires a documented site access procedure, clear tank identification, pre-agreed delivery limits, and photographic confirmation of delivery sent to your designated contact.

Q10What if it rains? Do you still deliver?

Yes. Rain in the UAE is infrequent but we operate in all weather conditions, including rain, dust storms, and summer heat (up to 50°C+). Our tankers and equipment are rated for the full range of UAE weather conditions.

In extreme weather emergencies (severe flooding, sandstorms with near-zero visibility), we may temporarily pause deliveries for driver safety. We communicate immediately with affected clients and reschedule at the earliest safe opportunity — with zero penalty to you.

Q11What's the difference between EN 590 diesel and red diesel?

EN 590 Diesel (White/Road Diesel) — ≤10 ppm sulfur:

  • For on-road vehicles: trucks, buses, vans, passenger cars.
  • Meets Euro 5/6 emission standards.
  • Taxed for road use. Clear/light straw color.
  • Must be used in any vehicle that operates on public roads.

Red Diesel / Gas Oil:

  • Same base fuel, but dyed red with a chemical marker.
  • Intended for off-road use only: construction machinery, generators, marine auxiliary engines, boilers.
  • Typically lower tax/duty rate for qualifying off-road applications.
Important: MUST NOT be used in on-road vehicles. Roadside checks can detect red dye for weeks after use. Penalties can include heavy fines and vehicle seizure.
Q12Do you provide Certificates of Analysis (COA)?

Yes. A COA is available for every delivery upon request — typically provided within 24 hours. For contract clients, we can include COAs with every delivery document as standard.

A Hibernia Diesel COA typically includes: product name and grade, delivery date and quantity, density at 15°C, sulfur content (mg/kg), cetane number or index, distillation range, flash point, water content, total contamination, and additional parameters per client request (lubricity HFRR, CFPP, FAME content, etc.).

Q13How should I store diesel on my site?

Proper storage is critical to maintaining fuel quality. Key recommendations:

  • Tank material: Use steel or HDPE tanks rated for diesel. Avoid galvanized steel — diesel reacts with zinc, forming deposits.
  • Location: Above-ground or underground per UAE Civil Defence regulations. Ensure secondary containment (bund wall) for above-ground tanks. Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Water management: Regular water bottom checks and draining (at least monthly). Install water detection sensors. Keep tanks as full as practical to minimize condensation. Use desiccant breathers in humid environments.
  • Filtration: Install a fuel filter/water separator between storage and dispensing point. Replace elements per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Housekeeping: Label tanks clearly. Keep fill-point areas clean. Maintain delivery/maintenance records. Schedule professional tank cleaning every 2–5 years.
Q14Can I mix different diesel grades in my storage tank?

We strongly discourage it — here's why:

  • Quality dilution: If you top up an EN 590 tank with high-sulfur diesel, the entire tank may no longer meet the 10 ppm spec, potentially voiding warranties.
  • Additive incompatibility: Different additive packages can interact unpredictably, potentially causing filter-plugging precipitate formation.
  • Dye contamination: Adding even a small amount of red diesel to an EN 590 tank will dye the entire content, making it illegal for on-road use.

If you must switch grades, the tank should be emptied, cleaned, and inspected before the new grade is introduced. Contact us for advice on transitioning between fuel grades.

Q15Do you require long-term contracts, or can I order on a spot basis?

Both options are available — we don't force anyone into contracts they don't want.

Spot Purchasing: Order when you need fuel — no ongoing commitment. Pricing reflects current spot market conditions. Subject to tanker availability (contract clients receive priority). Best for occasional users or companies testing our service.

Contract Supply: A supply agreement covering a defined period (typically 6, 12, or 24 months). Benefits include priority allocation, pricing stability, dedicated account manager, scheduled delivery program, quarterly quality reports, credit terms available, and flexible volume adjustments within agreed bands.

Many clients start with spot purchases and transition to contracts once they're confident in our service.

Q16Can I change my delivery schedule after signing a contract?

Yes — within reason. Our contracts include agreed volume bands (e.g., "500–1,000 IG per week") rather than rigid fixed volumes. As long as your consumption stays within the band, schedule changes are managed with a simple phone call or WhatsApp message.

Major changes (e.g., adding an entirely new delivery site) are managed through a simple contract amendment — no penalties.

Q17What happens if there's a problem with my delivery?
  • Call us immediately: If anything is wrong — late delivery, broken seal, unusual fuel appearance — call your account manager or our 24/7 line (+971 50 992 9257) immediately.
  • Document the issue: Take photos if possible. If fuel quality is in question, DO NOT pump the fuel into your equipment until we've investigated.
  • Our response timeline: Acknowledgment within 15 minutes (business hours) or 1 hour (after hours) → Investigation within 4 hours → Root cause within 48 hours → Corrective action plan within 24 hours of root cause determination.
  • Your protection: For contract clients, we carry product liability insurance. If our fuel is proven to have caused damage, our insurance covers documented losses per policy terms.
Q18How do I open a credit account?

To apply for credit terms:

  • Contact accounts@hiberniadiesel.com or speak to your sales representative.
  • Complete our credit application form (requires basic company information, trade references, and authorization).
  • We process applications typically within 3–5 business days.
  • If approved, we'll notify you of your credit limit and payment terms (typically Net 15 or Net 30).

Credit accounts are available to UAE-registered companies with established trading history. New companies may initially trade on a prepaid basis while establishing payment history.

Q19What happens if there's a fuel spill during delivery?

All Hibernia Diesel tankers carry spill response kits and our drivers are trained in spill containment and response.

Immediate actions:

  • Driver stops pumping immediately.
  • Spill kit deployed — absorbent booms to contain, absorbent pads to soak up fuel.
  • Site personnel notified and area cordoned off.
  • If the spill reaches a drain or watercourse, Dubai Civil Defence and the relevant environmental authority are notified per UAE regulations.

Post-incident: Incident report within 24 hours, root cause analysis within 48 hours, contaminated materials disposed of through licensed waste handlers (our responsibility if our operations caused the spill), preventive measures implemented.

Our record: Zero reportable spills to environment since company inception.
Q20Is your diesel environmentally friendly?

"Environmentally friendly" and "diesel" require careful qualification.

Our EN 590 ultra-low sulfur diesel (10 ppm) represents the cleanest widely-available diesel grade. Compared to high-sulfur diesel:

  • Reduces sulfur dioxide (SO₂) emissions by 95–99% — a major contributor to acid rain.
  • Enables diesel particulate filters (DPFs) that capture 99%+ of particulate matter.
  • Enables SCR systems that reduce NOx by 90%+.
  • Supports compliance with UAE air quality regulations.

Our Black Diesel / Recycled Diesel program diverts used oil from landfill, re-refining it into industrial fuel — a circular-economy approach. We are actively monitoring renewable diesel (HVO) supply chain development in the Middle East and intend to offer lower-carbon options as they become commercially viable in our market.
