Certifications That Matter —
Not Just Wall Decorations

We hold certifications from accredited, independent bodies that audit our operations, test our products, and verify our claims. Here's every certification we hold — and what each one means for your business.

Transparency

Radical Transparency on Quality

When you're evaluating a fuel supplier, asking "Are you certified?" is a good start. But the real question is: "Who certified you, what did they test, and can I see the documentation?"

On this page, you'll find every certification, approval, and quality framework Hibernia Diesel operates under — with explanations of what each certification actually means for the fuel you receive. Our certifications are renewed through regular audits. We're happy to share current certificates and the most recent audit reports. Just ask.

Our Certifications

Every Certificate We Hold

ISO 9001:2008 — Quality Management System
Issued by an accredited third-party certification body · Annually audited · Independently verified

ISO 9001 is the world's most recognized quality management standard. It defines requirements for a quality management system (QMS) that consistently provides products and services meeting customer and regulatory requirements. Our certification covers the full scope of our petroleum supply operations.

What It Means for You
Documented procedures: Every process — from fuel procurement to delivery — follows a written, audited procedure. Nothing is left to chance.
Continuous improvement: Our QMS requires us to measure performance, identify weaknesses, and implement corrective actions. You benefit from a system that gets better every year.
Customer focus: ISO 9001 places customer satisfaction at the center of the QMS. We measure it, track complaints, and act on feedback.
Independent verification: Our QMS is audited annually by an accredited third-party certification body — not self-declared.
Scope: Procurement, storage, distribution, and supply of diesel, fuel oil, kerosene, bitumen, and related petroleum products. On-site refueling and tanker rental services.
Documentation: Certificate available upon request — quality@hiberniadiesel.com
ECAS — Emirates Conformity Assessment System
Administered by ESMA (Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology) · Annual renewal · Product-level certification

ECAS is the UAE's national product certification scheme verifying that products comply with UAE national standards and technical regulations. For diesel fuel, this means compliance with UAE.S 5027, which aligns closely with Euro 5 / EN 590 specifications for automotive diesel.

What It Means for You
UAE-compliant fuel: Every litre meets or exceeds UAE federal fuel quality standards — mandatory for all commercial diesel sold in the Emirates.
Government-recognized: Products tested by ESMA-accredited laboratories and found compliant with national regulations.
Fleet protection: Using ECAS-certified diesel protects your engines from non-compliant fuel that can damage injectors, DPFs, and SCR systems.
Regulatory acceptance: Simplifies compliance for government clients and ISO 14001 certified organizations.
Standards covered: UAE.S 5027 (Automotive Diesel) · UAE.S 5031 (Industrial Diesel) · UAE.S 477 (Gas Oil/Red Diesel)
EHS Trakhees — Environment, Health & Safety Approval
Issued by Trakhees / PCFC · Covers Dubai designated zones · Ongoing compliance with periodic inspections

Trakhees is the regulatory arm of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) in Dubai, responsible for environment, health, and safety regulation. EHS approval confirms that our operations — including fuel storage, handling, transportation, and emergency response — meet Dubai's stringent EHS requirements.

What It Means for You
Safe operations: Our fuel handling procedures have been reviewed and approved by Dubai's primary EHS regulator.
Environmental compliance: Spill prevention, waste management, and emissions control meet or exceed regulatory standards.
Site safety: When our tanker arrives at your location, operations follow EHS-approved procedures — protecting your site, staff, and insurance coverage.
Ongoing compliance: EHS approval is not a one-time event — it requires ongoing compliance with evolving regulations and periodic inspections.
Scope: Storage, handling, transportation, and distribution of Class 3 flammable liquids (diesel, gas oil, kerosene, and related petroleum products).
Beyond the Certificates — Our Quality Infrastructure
Internal programs that go beyond minimum certification requirements
Laboratory Testing

Every major fuel batch tested at independent ISO 17025-accredited UAE laboratories. Standard panels include density, cetane, sulfur, distillation, flash point, cloud point, CFPP, water content, lubricity (HFRR), and FAME content.

Certificates of Analysis (COA) available for every delivery within 24 hours of request.

Supplier Audit Program

All fuel suppliers audited against criteria including refinery certifications, quality history, logistics capability, and environmental record. New suppliers undergo qualification before we purchase a single litre.

Existing suppliers re-audited periodically — frequency based on risk assessment.

Retain Sample Program

Sealed samples retained from major deliveries for 30–90 days (extendable). Enables independent re-testing in case of any quality dispute. Sampling follows ASTM D4057 or equivalent.

Non-Conformance Procedure

Any off-spec delivery triggers documented non-conformance: immediate client notification, root cause investigation within 48 hours, corrective action, full transparency — no hiding behind legal language.

Choosing a Certified Supplier Protects Your Business

When you buy diesel from an uncertified supplier, you're taking risks that can cascade through your operations. Here's what's at stake.

Engine Damage

Non-compliant diesel with high sulfur, excessive water, or particulate contamination can destroy fuel injectors, high-pressure pumps, and DPF/SCR aftertreatment systems. Repair costs for a modern diesel engine can easily exceed AED 50,000 per unit. For a fleet of 20 trucks, that's a seven-figure liability.

Regulatory Violations

UAE environmental regulations increasingly mandate ultra-low sulfur diesel for specific applications. Using non-compliant fuel can result in fines, operational shutdowns, and reputational damage — especially for companies with ISO 14001 or ESG commitments.

Operational Downtime

The cheapest diesel in the world is expensive if it causes your equipment to fail. A single day of downtime for a construction site, manufacturing plant, or hotel generator can cost far more than any fuel savings from using an uncertified supplier.

Warranty Voiding

Equipment manufacturers specify minimum fuel quality standards. Using non-certified fuel can void engine warranties — shifting massive repair costs onto your balance sheet. Documentation from a certified supplier is your first line of defense.

Hibernia Diesel's certifications aren't just paperwork. They're an insurance policy for your engines, your operations, and your reputation.
